Spark is a mini drone that features all of DJI's signature technologies, allowing you to seize the moment whenever you feel inspired.
The Spark combines high-grade optics and advanced gimbal technologies to provide superior output for aerial photography and videography applications. It features an integrated camera with a 25mm f/2.6 wide-angle lens comprised of five lens elements, ensuring high-quality imagery with vivid colors and minimized distortions and aberrations.
With a 2-axis mechanical gimbal and DJI’s UltraSmooth technology, the Spark is designed to provide maximum stability to eliminate blurring so that the camera captures sharp images and videos even when flight conditions are not ideal. The user has more freedom to execute complex shots that are smooth, stable, and full of detail.
A wide selection of intelligent flight modes for both autonomous and semi-autonomous flight allow the user to focus on operating the camera and capturing their desired images or video footage without having to worry about flying the drone and avoiding obstacles.
To ensure ensuring optimum visual tracking and flight safety, the Spark is equipped with the highly sophisticated DJI FlightAutonomy system, which enables the drone to hover at a maximum altitude of 98 feet and sense obstacles from up to 15 feet away. It is comprised of a 3D Sensing System, Vision Positioning System, dual-band GPS, an inertial measurement unit, a 24-core controller, and the drone’s built-in camera.
The TapFly Mode allows you to control the Spark through your phone screen and easily take high-quality photos with two QuickShot Video Modes. It has two specific modes:
Direction Mode - enables you to direct the drone and ensure that it keeps flying in a specified direction
Coordinate Mode - allows the pilot to maintain a particular altitude while flying to the selected destination
This advanced shooting mode takes drone flying to the next level by recognizing objects and people and tracking their movements. The drone will essentially follow the chosen subject while keeping it in frame.
You can choose between two ActiveTrack Modes that are appropriate for capturing your desired images and footage.
Trace - makes the drone track an object/person from the front, back, or from other perspectives
Profile - makes the drone follow a person/object from a fixed perspective
Designed to fulfill the needs of recreational users, the Spark can also be used as an entry-level racing drone thanks to its Sport mode, which is specifically made for those who want to fly with speed. Whether you plan to use it for drone racing or for recording fast-paced action, this mode pushes the Spark to its maximum speed of 31 miles per hour while ensuring maximum agility and responsiveness.
The Spark also has a set of QuickShot Smart Video modes that help deliver dynamic and professional-looking aerial videos.
Rocket - The most common type of shot you see in aerial videos where the camera ascends while the camera is facing the ground.
Dronie - The camera flies backward and upward while focusing on the subject.
Circle - The camera focuses on a certain subject and records while circling around it.
Helix - This mode enables you to capture more complicated shots where the camera goes up and spirals around your subject
Though relatively small in size, the Spark offers up to 16 minutes of flight time uses a powerful LiPo flight battery that estimates remaining flight time and lets you know when to land, as well as 12 intelligent protection functions for safe flights.
For longer flight times, the Spark Fly More Combo comes with two intelligent flight batteries and a battery charging hub that can handle multiple batteries.
Upon turning on the drone, the Spark activates FaceAware, a facial recognition feature that allows it to recognize your face as you hold it in the palm of your hand. This allows it to immediately take off without the need to wait for a command from a remote controller or a mobile device.
The Spark is also equipped with gesture sensing capabilities, which means you can direct the drone’s movements entirely through hand gestures. You can also command it to take selfies and group photos by simply raising your arms, waving your hand, or making a frame with your fingers while facing the drone.
To help pilots avoid areas or spaces that are restricted for drone flight, the DJI GEO System provides real-time information on locations where there may be existing safety or security concerns. This helps rule out the possibility of breaking mandated drone regulations and policies. During instances where you lose connection with your drone or it loses battery power, the Spark can return safely without the need for commands thanks to its Return to Home feature. This allows the drone to return safely to its initial takeoff point or preset home point without the need for direction or guidance.
Users can conveniently share their photos and videos on social media through the DJI GO 4 mobile app. You may also polish your work before sharing by editing your footage in the app using any of the provided editing templates and filters.
